Since opening our company child care center two years ago, the number of employees taking advantage of the discounted, on-site child care option has quadrupled. As the program has grown in popularity, we have hired new teachers and child care assistants and added more space, converting two adjacent offices into a new lunchroom and play area.
Due to the expansion and increased expenses of this program, the cost to employees for full-time child care for one child for five days a week will increase by [$24 per month beginning in July]. The cost for part-time care will be prorated according to the number of half days of care provided per month.
As part of the continued expansion of this program, we will add several new interest areas this fall—for instance, a play house and log-cabin-style fort, as well as additional outdoor playground equipment.
